1

Nerf N-Strike Elite Retaliator Blaster - Great for Outside!

nerf hyperfire elite blaster

The very first Nerf Gun that we have up is the N-Strike Elite Retaliator Blaster and is one of the more popular Nerf Gun models, and for good reason!

First off it has an amazing range and can fire darts up to 90 feet which is perfect if you have a lot of your Nerf wars outside. Another cool thing about the Retaliator Blaster is that you can actually arrange it into four different configurations. So whether you’re on the move or waiting in your favorite hiding spot for the perfect shot – you can get set up for exactly what you need.

This Nerf Gun comes pretty well equipped so you’ll be ready to go straight out of the box. It comes with stock, stability handle, barrel extension, 12-dart quick reload clip, and 12 darts to help get you started. Although we always recommend having more darts around. This is the perfect gun if you’re looking for something versatile and also customizable. No matter what your mission is, you can customize this gun to your exact specifications.

You can keep the stock on if you’re going to be staking out your target for a long time or you can easily take it off if you want the extra mobility while you’re chasing after your target. If you add the stability handle, it also helps you reach your target while on the move.

PROS
  • Great range
  • Can customize in multiple different setups
CONS
  • Only holds 12 darts
2

Nerf N-Strike Elite Triad EX-3 Blaster - Lightweight and Easy to Fire

best nerf gun

If you fight most of your Nerf battles on the go and you really need to be portable and have your hands free, then you should definitely consider the Triad EX-3 Blaster.

This little guy is lightweight, easy to fire, and still has a really good range at 90 feet! That’s pretty high for such a small gun. One of the downsides to owning such a small gun is definitely its capacity.

You’re only able to load up to three darts at a time but it’s very easy to reload and if you just carry a bunch of darts in your pocket or a dart clip, then this shouldn’t really be an issue. It can actually be an advantage over your enemies – while they’re reloading 12 or more darts, all you have to do is pop in three and you’re good to go.

The Triad EX-3 Blaster is also perfect because it automatically knows which barrels have darts in them so you won’t have to waste time firing multiple times until the ammo comes out.

This gun is also surprisingly small. You can easily conceal this on the side of your body or in a pocket without anybody seeing so you’ll have the element of surprise on them! Since it is so small, you could also use this in addition to a larger gun you’re carrying if you wanted. The options are endless with the Triad EX-3 Blaster and it does not disappoint!

PROS
  • Lightweight
  • Fast to reload
  • Easy to conceal
  • 90 foot range
CONS
  • Only holds 3 darts
3

Nerf N-Strike Modulus ECS-10 Blaster - Great Motorized Option

all nerf n strike blasters

Perhaps you need something a little more heavy-duty for your Nerf gun battles. Then look no further than the Nerf N-Strike Modulus ECS-10 Blaster! This is also the first motorized option that we’re featuring on our list.

Sometimes having to cock and fire the gun yourself can take up too much time and effort so having a motorized gun in your arsenal can be just the thing to give you that edge over your enemies. You can actually build a custom blaster with all the parts that come with this. In fact, there are over 30 different combinations you can choose from to make the perfect gun.

Alright, now let’s go over some other important stats about this gun. It features a targeting scope so you can scout out your enemies from far away, a drop grip, a dual-rail barrel, and a banana clip that can hold 10 darts! This gun also comes with 10 darts straight out of the box so you’ll be ready to fire from the second you get it.

Did we mention that this gun also fires over 90 feet? So you’ll really be able to use the targeting scope to fire at your enemy from super far away. This is a heavy-duty Nerf gun that will help you fire faster, be more accurate, and allows you to really customize the gun for each individual battle. We’re in love with the Nerf N-Strike Modulus ECS-10 Blaster and think you will be too!

PROS
  • Fires quickly
  • Great range
CONS
  • Can't fire with one hand
4

Nerf Rival Apollo XV-700 - Really Packs a Punch

hyperfire nerf

Sometimes when you’re fighting a Nerf battle, you want something with a little more impact than your typical Nerf darts. If you’re looking for something that packs a little bit more of a punch then you should consider the Nerf Rival Apollo XV-700.

One cool thing about the Rival Apollo Nerf series is that it comes in two different colors – red and blue. This is perfect because it lets you easily form different teams. Half of your friends buy a red gun and half buy a blue gun and bam, there ya go! You’ve automatically formed two different teams without even trying.

This gun is extremely easy to load so after you run out of rounds (it holds seven), you’ll be able to quickly reload and continue your attack.

As we mentioned before, this gun doesn’t take regular nerf bullets. It comes with seven high-impact rounds. These do hurt a bit more than normal so be careful.

But if you’re really looking for a way to stick it to your competition then this a great ammo to do so. It also has one of the longest ranges at 100 feet! This is one of the longest ranges for a Nerf gun so make sure you’re carrying a lot of rounds since you won’t want to go get your ammo every single time.

PROS
  • 100 foot range
  • Ammo hits harder than usual
CONS
  • Doesn't take regular Nerf bullets
5

Nerf Zombie Strike ZED - Great for Short-Range Battles

nerf tri strike

You don’t always need such a long-range gun. Sometimes the name of the game is short, accurate shots. Lucky for you, that is exactly what you get with the Nerf Zombie Strike ZED. Unlike some of the other larger guns, this is super easy to handle and you can easily fire with just one hand.

There’s even a scope for you to aim perfectly while you’re hiding in the shadows and waiting for your perfect shot. This Nerf gun only holds four darts so you will have to reload fairly often – but every time you do shoot, you’ll have an easy, accurate, powerful shot.

This may not be the best gun for holding a lot of ammo or firing long-range, but it is a great gun for powerful short-range shots. You can easily use this gun with one hand so you could even have one gun in each hand if you wanted to. And while this may only hold four shots, it makes it that much faster to reload whenever you run out of ammo.

This is a great gun for smaller kids or even if you have smaller hands. It’s super easy to handle and you can accurately hit your target with only one hand. This is the perfect gun for battling zombies or battling your friends. Or battling your friends when they turn into zombies. Either way, you’ll be sure to get the shot.

PROS
  • Powerful short-range shots
  • Very accurate
CONS
  • Not great for outdoor battles
6

Nerf Modulus Recon MKII - Easy to Reload

best nerf gun

Up next we have another powerful, customizable Nerf gun that looks great and works even better. The Nerf Modulus Recon MKII features a blaster, stock, barrel extension, 6 darts, as well as a 6 dart clip. The dart clip is great because it makes it super easy and fast to reload. All you have to do is drop in the darts and you’re ready to go in under 15 seconds.

This is seriously one of the easiest Nerf guns on the market to reload. So if you want a definitive edge over your competition, the Nerf Modulus Recon MKII will give you exactly that. It’s also customizable and lets you configure up to four different blasters so no matter what mission or battle you face, you’ll be good to go.

We forgot to mention the range on this. You can fire this baby up to 90 feet! It’s honestly the perfect combination of mobility and stability. You can configure it to be the perfect on-the-go gun but you can also set it up to be a stable shooter that you can use to accurately hit your target up to 90 feet away.

We absolutely love the Nerf Modulus Recon MKII – and you will too once you take out every single one of your enemies with a breeze. You will fall in love with this Nerf gun after your first battle.

PROS
  • Super easy to reload
  • Great range
CONS
  • Only holds 6 darts
7

Nerf Modulus Tri-Strike - Fires Multiple Darts

nerf modulus vs rapidstrike

If you are looking for the ultimate in the Nerf Gun line up then you need not look any further than the Nerf Modulus Tri-Strike. This is the ultimate big daddy Nerf Gun shooter. Not only does this fire Elite Nerf darts, but it also fires mega darts as well as missiles. No matter what the situation or what battle you’re facing, this gun will easily get the job done.

Whether you need to quickly fire Elite darts or if you’re staking out your enemy and really want to nail them with a missile, the Nerf Modulus Tri-Strike will help you out. In fact, it’s named the Tri-Strike because it fires Elite Darts, MEGA Darts, as well as missiles.

It also comes with a stock so you’re able to easily and comfortably set up a stake-out point if you need to wait for your target to come into focus. The Nerf Modulus Tri-Strike also has a pretty decent range at 85 feet. You get a lot of versatility, but you don’t have to compromise on range which is a huge factor.

This gun also comes with a lot of ammo to get you started. Straight out of the box you’ll have: 10 Elite Darts, a 10-dart clip, 4 MEGA Darts, and a missile as well as a MEGA Dart barrel extension, and a Missile launcher stock. AKA, you’ll be ready to kick butt the second you receive your Nerf Tri Strike package.

PROS
  • Fires multiple types of darts
  • Comes with a lot of different darts
CONS
  • Hard to travel with

Nerf N-Strike Elite HyperFire - Great Speed Plus Great Capacity

new nerf hyperfire

If versatility was the selling point of the Nerf Modulus Tri-Strike, then speed and capacity are going to be the selling point of the Nerf N-Strike Elite Hyperfire. This is the second motorized gun to make it onto our list and is well worth putting in the extra batteries (of which it takes 4 D batteries).

This gun comes with 25 Elite darts and not only does it come with those darts, but it actually has the ability to hold all of those darts! It has a 25-dart drum so it can easily fit the darts. The one downside to having a gun that holds so many darts is that it will take you a bit longer to refill the drum. However, you can easily do so in under 60 seconds.

The N-Strike Elite Hyperfire Nerf gun can fire darts up to 90 feet with ease. And with fresh batteries, it can fire up to five darts per second!

The second you see your enemy, you can hit your target rapidly and ensure a sudden death. The one downside to this gun is that you need to make sure that you always have fresh batteries! The firing speed will definitely slow down the longer you have your batteries in so if you want that rapid fire, make sure you always have fresh batteries.

PROS
  • High capacity
  • Fires quickly
CONS
  • Requires batteries

Nerf N-Strike Elite Disruptor - Great Mid-Sized Gun

nerf n strike elite

This is another Nerf gun that’s a great balance between having a larger, heavy-duty gun and having a smaller handheld gun that allows you to fire with just one hand.

It’s reasonably priced, holds up to six elite darts, and can fire up to 90 feet! It features a quick-draw blaster so you’re able to fire quickly and at the very second that you spot your enemy. And with a firing range of up to 90 feet, you’ll be able to reach them wherever they may be. Another really cool feature is the slam-fire action. So instead of firing each of the darts one at a time, you can hold down the trigger and fire all six darts in rapid succession to really make sure you get your target!

You can also fire in one smooth motion. All you have to do is pull the slide back and then release! Boom! There you go, easy as that. There’s also an indicator on the back of the gun to let you know if it’s primed and ready to go. If the indicator is orange, then that means the gun is ready to fire.

If it’s not, then you know you have to prepare your weapon. This is a great first gun or is also a great addition to any Nerf gun arsenal you might already have. It’s powerful enough to be your main weapon but also light enough and easy enough to use to fire with one hand.

PROS
  • Good range
  • Quick to fire
CONS
  • A bit pricey

Nerf N-Strike Elite Firestrike - Packs That Extra Punch

n strike elite hyperfire

Another Nerf gun is up next that fires Elite darts! We love the Elite darts because they just feel that much sturdier to us and really do pack that extra bit of punch. The Nerf N Strike Elite Firestrike is a unique gun and is the first on our list to have one extra special feature. It includes a precision light beam that works up to 15 feet away!

This is perfect to make sure you really nail your enemy. This is also perfect to help with target practice as well. You can use this when you’re not in battle so you can learn exactly how to position your gun to make sure you always make your mark. The Nerf N Strike Elite Firestrike comes with three Elite darts straight out of the box and has a pretty good range, as well. You can fire this little guy up to 75 feet!

Of course, since this uses a laser light to help you aim, it does indeed take batteries. So make sure you don’t forget to pick up a couple so you’ll be ready to go straight out of the box.

Of course you can use this without the batteries but you just won’t be able to use the target light. All in all, this is a solid gun and great for those missions where you have to stake out your target. It’s also perfect if you’re fighting in the dark as the light can really make sure that you won’t miss!

PROS
  • Sturdy darts
  • Laser aim
CONS
  • Requires batteries

Nerf Zombie Strike FlipFury Blaster - Powerful But Versatile

best nerf gun

Talk about an intense Nerf gun. The Nerf Zombie Strike FlipFury Blaster has got to be one of the coolest Nerf guns we’ve seen in a while. There are two drums in this gun, each one holds six darts for a total of twelve. As the name suggests, once one drum runs out, you can easily flip the drums around so the full one is ready to fire.

It may seem pretty large and it will definitely take two hands to flip it around, but once you’re done with that you can be ready to fire with just one hand. This guy allows you to fire quickly and also to reload quickly. You can set it up so you easily have access to each of the drums, pop in the 12 darts, and you’re good to go in under 30 seconds.

Not only is this gun functional, but it’s also intimidating. The second your enemy sees you coming with this, they won’t know what to think. And boy will they be in for a surprise when they think you’ve run out of ammo, and then watch you flip your barrels around and be ready to go with a whole nother round.

The Nerf Zombie Strike FlipFury Blaster is one of the most powerful, and also one of the coolest Nerf guns on the market. If you’re looking to really expand your Nerf collection with something unique, this gun will do just that.

PROS
  • Looks intimidating
  • Fast to reload
CONS
  • Hard to run around with

Nerf Modulus IonFire Blaster - Great For Customizing

nerf hyperfire

One of our favorite things about Nerf guns is how easy they are to customize. You might only be purchasing one Nerf gun, but you can usually customize it anywhere from four to thirty different ways! So depending on exactly what the mission calls for, you’ll be ready to change the gun at a moment’s notice to really catch your enemies off guard.

The Nerf Modulus IonFire Blaster is no exception and is, in fact one of our favorite customizable Nerf guns. Accessories include the blaster, barrel extension, four darts, and then a removable dart holder. The dart holder is perfect and gives you much easier access to your extra darts but if you’re trying to be a bit more mobile, then removing it will make you that much faster and more agile.

Without the barrel or dart holder, the Nerf Modulus IonFire Blaster functions as a stealthy weapon that is easy to hide with and one that you can easily use with one hand. However, if you add the barrel and dart holder then it turns into a much more heavy-duty gun that you can use for your bigger missions.

Either way, this is one of our favorite Nerf guns and it does not disappoint on any front. Give the Nerf Modulus IonFire Blaster a go and you’ll see why.

PROS
  • Easy to customize
  • Easy to hide
CONS
  • A little bit pricey

Nerf N-Strike Mega Mega Mastodon - Super Powerful

nerf hyperfire blaster toy

Sometimes you know for a fact that you don’t need versatility. Sometimes you just need brute power and strength. We can almost guarantee that you won’t be able to find more power and strength in any other Nerf gun than the Nerf N-Strike Mega Mega Mastodon. So Mega that they had to include it in the name twice.

Just look at the picture – if you show up to a battle with one of these, at least half of your competition is bound to turn around and go home. The intimidation factor alone with the Nerf N-Strike Mega Mega Mastodon is half of its allure. But the question remains, does it perform as good as it looks? Answer: absolutely.

This is another motorized Nerf gun and holds up to 24 darts! That’s one of the largest capacities we’ve seen on our list yet. It fires up to 100 feet as well! The Mastodon features not only quantity but quality shooting as well. This includes a 24-dart drum, a drum cage, two drum covers, a handle, a strap, and 24 darts as well.

You’ll be ready to strap this baby on and start firing at your enemies in no time. One thing we should note, the Nerf N-Strike Mega Mega Mastodon does indeed require six D batteries so don’t forget to pick these up.

PROS
  • Can carry a lot of ammo
  • Motorized gun so it's fast
CONS
  • Requires batteries

Nerf Doomlands 2169 Lawbringer - Great For Stalking or Running

nerf hyperfire

We have a unique design from Nerf up next with the Nerf Doomlands 2169 Lawbringer. The design makes it easy to set yourself up so you can stalk your enemy from afar or so you can carry it underneath your arm as you’re running. Either way, this is the perfect gun for whichever situation you find yourself in.

While this gun doesn’t have slam fire, it does have something called hammer-action blasting. All you do is hold down the trigger and pull back the hammer and the darts will fire. It’s not quite as rapid fire as slam fire but it’s definitely much faster than having to fire each shot individually.

The trigger on the Nerf Doomlands 2169 Lawbringer is also particularly easy to pull so you’ll be able to battle for long periods of time without your hands getting too tired.

This Nerf gun holds 12 darts which is pretty decent but can only fire up to 25 feet. This should be more than enough for short-range battles but if you’re looking for something that you’ll be using outside in more spacious areas, maybe consider something with a bit more of a range. It holds 12 darts in the barrel but there’s also more storage in the back on the stock so you’ll always be ready to fire.

PROS
  • Trigger easy to pull
  • Has hammer-fire action
CONS
  • Short range

Nerf Rival Khaos MXVI-4000 Blaster - The Ultimate Nerf Gun

nerf gun hyperfire

This Nerf gun is for those among us who tend to take things a bit too seriously – which isn’t a bad thing! But if you want a gun that carries the most ammo and will fire rounds seriously fast then look no further. The Nerf Rival Khaos MXVI-4000 Blaster is completely motorized, holds 40 rounds, and features rapid-fire blasting.

This is one of the most serious Nerf guns on the market, that’s for sure. You can purchase this gun in either red or blue so you’re able to form two separate teams that you can easily identify straight out of the box. Each gun also comes with 40 rounds which should be enough to at least get you started and fill up your gun.

Don’t forget that with motorized Nerf guns, you’ll need to purchase some batteries and this one is no exception. You’ll need six D batteries that unfortunately aren’t included.

You’ll also get a range of about 50 feet with this blaster which is pretty decent given everything else about it. It also fires the rounds at 100 fps so it’ll reach its range in just about half of a second.

Not bad if you want to catch your enemies off guard. This is definitely one of the top contenders for best nerf gun and is going to be a tough one to beat. It’s definitely a bit pricier than some of the other guns on our list but we strongly believe it’s worth every single penny.

PROS
  • Holds a large amount of rounds
  • Easy to fire
CONS
  • Requires batteries
16

Nerf N-Strike Elite Rapidstrike CS-18 - Fires Rapidly

hyperfire review

Up next is another rapid-fire Nerf gun that will really give you that extra edge over all your enemies. It holds 18 darts which is pretty good and will keep you going during your battles. It’s the perfect combination of having enough darts to fight the fight but also not taking too long to reload once you do run out.

You can obviously fire this like a normal Nerf gun but there’s also an acceleration trigger that will power up the motor for some rapid firing for when the going gets tough. The clip that holds the darts is also see through so you’re able to see exactly how many darts you have left and exactly when you’re close to needing to reload.

There’s also a pretty decent range on the Nerf N Strike Elite Rapidstrike CS-18 as well. It can fire up to 75 feet! That’s a pretty good range for a Nerf gun that holds so many darts. This powerful little guy also fires at a rate of up to 3.2 darts per second! You’re able to pack a pretty strong punch in a short amount of time. We also like to throw in a reminder that to use the motorized features on this gun, you’re gonna need some batteries.

This one requires four C size batteries. This gun is definitely a bit more expensive than some of the others on the market, but we think you’ll be impressed with the quality and be happy you spent the money. This Rapidstrike CS-18 definitely does not disappoint.

PROS
  • Good range
  • Doesn't take long to reload
CONS
  • A bit pricey
17

Nerf Zombie Strike Doominator - Perfect For Fighting Zombies

nerf hyperfire elite blaster

If fighting zombies is the name of your game then boy do we have the gun for you. The Nerf Zombie Strike Doominator is the ultimate Nerf gun when it comes to taking out those pesky zombies. Just look at the thing! Zombies will tremble with fear the second they lay eyes upon this terrifying gun.

Not only does it look terrifying – but it is terrifying. With all the features and the dart capacity, you’ll be able to take out any zombie that crosses your path. It features a three-position handle so no matter where you find yourself, you’ll always be able to find a way to hold your gun. This works whether you’re right or left-handed so either way, those zombies will pay.

Probably our favorite part about this gun is the flipping drums. So in total, the Nerf Zombie Strike Doominator can hold 24 darts. It holds six darts each in four different drums. As soon as one drum runs out, you quickly flip the drums to the next one and resume fire. Or if the situation calls for it, this Nerf gun features slam-fire. Activate slam-fire, and this guy will fire all 24 darts at once, completely annihilating your enemy.

This is a great heavy-duty gun. We love the way it looks, it has a high dart capacity, and you’re able to adjust it three different ways to get it to the perfect position, depending on where you’re hiding out. It does only fire 15 feet so it’s better for inside or close-range battles.

PROS
  • Looks terrifying
  • Holds a lot darts
CONS
  • Not a great range
18

Nerf N-Strike Elite Precision Target Set - Great For Target Practice

n strike elite hyperfire

This might not necessarily be the best nerf gun for battle, but we wanted to include it anyway just in case you need to brush up on your target practice. This is the perfect way to get the edge over your enemy or even if you wanted to hold a target competition!

Either way, this Nerf N-Strike Elite Precision Target Set is sure to give you the edge that you need and want over your enemies. While this is just a practice target set, it does come with a pretty decent gun and 10 suction darts to boot. The gun can be used with one hand no problem and can easily be used in quick battles.

There’s also a light beam attached to the gun so you can see exactly where you’re shooting.

The target itself is great as well. You can score either 10, 25, 50, or 100 points for the bullseye. They also include two different colors of darts with this set so you’re able to keep track of who’s scoring what. Like we said, the gun even includes a laser beam so you’re able to start off with that if you’re really a newbie to Nerf guns.

No matter what your reason for purchasing this – whether you want to improve your aim or just have some healthy competitions, you’re sure to improve your Nerf game. ‘Practice makes perfect’ is a saying for a reason.

PROS
  • Great for target practice
  • Also good for setting up competitions
  • Has laser aim
CONS
  • Doesn't hold a lot of ammo

Nerf N-Strike Elite Stockade Blaster - Has Good Ammo Storage

best nerf gun

The next Nerf gun on our list is a top contender for best Nerf gun – it’s the Nerf N-Strike Elite Stockade Blaster. This is a great mid-grade gun. It’s heavy-duty enough to use as your sole gun in a battle but it’s also light and mobile enough for you to run around with it without being weighed down. Alright, let’s talk some specs.

The Stockade blaster fires its darts from a revolving barrel and can hold 10 darts in the barrel at a time. However, there is some bonus storage at the back of the gun where it can hold a reserve of five darts. So if you’re ever in a situation where you can’t find more ammo, you always have the five extra darts in the case of an emergency.

This Nerf N-Strike Elite Stockade Blaster also features semi-auto firing – you don’t have to cock the gun, just pull the trigger and you’re good to go. It fires up to 75 feet so you get a pretty decent range.

It makes it perfect for those indoor battles that sometimes make it to the outdoor terrain. Just a reminder, since it does feature semi-automatic firing you will need to purchase some batteries. It requires three AA batteries that aren’t included. Overall, a great addition to your Nerf gun arsenal that can also function as your primary gun if you’re buying your first one.

PROS
  • Has reserve storage
  • Has semi-automatic-firing
CONS
  • Requires batteries

Nerf Zombie Strike Hammershot Blaster - Great One-Handed Shooting

nerf hyperfire vs rapidstrike

One-handed blasters are probably one of our favorite types of Nerf guns. They usually have a smaller dart capacity but it’s great to have another hand free. Or if you’re feeling crazy, you can use two one-hand blasters so you’re able to fire in two different directions at two different enemies. OR, if you’re an even more advanced Nerf fighter – you could have a heavy-duty gun that fires automatically and then a one-handed blaster in your other hand.

Anyway – the Nerf Zombie Strike Hammershot Blaster is a perfect one-handed blaster. It holds five darts in a rotating drum and has a 30-foot range, which is pretty good for such a small gun.

This gun is also particularly easy to reload so you can be up and running and ready to go before you can say Nerf Zombie Strike Hammershot Blaster.

We love this pistol and is a great addition to any Nerf gun arsenal. Of course, this shouldn’t be your main gun for an entire battle but it’s a great supplement. It does only hold five darts, so make sure you carry plenty with you so you can reload quickly. It shouldn’t be an issue however since it takes no time at all to reload. You will not be disappointed with your Nerf Zombie Strike Hammershot Blaster purchase.

PROS
  • Easy to reload
  • Can shoot with one hand
CONS
  • Only holds five darts

Nerf N-Strike Elite Rough Cut 2X4 Blaster - Fires Two Darts At Once

new nerf hyperfire

Now this is something that we haven’t seen before. If you’re a savage and really love showing no mercy during your battles then you will fall in love with the Nerf N-Strike Elite Rough Cut 2×4 Blaster. You’re probably wondering why it’s called the ‘2×4’ blaster, well let us fill you in. This Nerf gun actually fires two darts at once!

That’s right, this Rough Cut blaster is double barreled and lets you fire two darts up to 75 feet. You don’t even have to compromise on range just because you’re firing two darts at the same time. It comes with eight Elite darts so you’ll be ready to battle the second your gun arrives.

It also features pump action in order to fire. This is much easier and quicker than having to cock the gun every time you want to fire. While the double shot action is kind of the selling point of this gun, you are able to fire single shot only if you want to.

However, it is a bit tricky to do especially under the pressures of battle. You have to put just the right amount of pressure on the trigger otherwise it will just end up firing two darts.

With a little bit of practice however, you should be able to nail it. Anyway, why would you buy a double blaster gun if you weren’t intending to use it for that purpose?

PROS
  • Fires two darts at once
  • Great range at 75 feet
CONS
  • Only holds eight darts

Nerf Zombie Strike Doublestrike Blaster - Great For Sneak Attacks

nerf dart tag hyperfire review

This is a tiny gun that gets the job done. It only holds two darts and of course will never be the only gun that you use in battle, but it’s small enough to be your second or even third gun that you use in battle. You could literally store this in your pocket as your third gun during battle for when your others run out of ammo.

Just when your enemies think that you’re down and out for the count, you can come back swinging with one final round and get your revenge. The best part is that it actually fires both darts at once! So your final blow will be a double one that will be sure to put the final nail in your competition’s coffin.

Like we said, this is perfect as an additional second or third gun in battle or this is also perfect for stealth missions if you want to get a battle going. Stick this guy in your pocket and nobody will even know that you’re armed and ready to go.

Then just make sure you have your primary guns close by, and you’ll easily have the advantage for the entire battle. This is definitely more of a close-range gun with a range of only 15 feet. Overall this is a necessary addition to any Nerf gun collection. The Nerf Zombie Strike Doublestrike Blaster does not disappoint.

PROS
  • Great for sneaking up on your enemies
  • Super easy to reload
CONS
  • Very short range

Nerf Zombie Strike Brainsaw Blaster - Very Intimidating Blaster

nerf hyperfire blaster toy

We know we’ve said this for a lot of guns, and we’ve always meant it – but with this one, you’re sure to really scare your enemies off. For the love of Nerf, just look at the gun! It’s shaped like a chainsaw. The second you whip this crazy guy out, everyone is bound to go running.

The chainsaw blade actually does spin so while you might not be able to cut down any trees, you’ll be able to intimidate anybody that you’re in battle with. It fires one dart at a time and has a capacity of eight darts. Not bad for such a heavy-duty gun but definitely on the lower end of the spectrum.

This is definitely suited more for short-range battles as it only has a range of about 20 feet. Not the worst but definitely not the best. With the spinning chainsaw, it’s also perfect for intimidating your enemy if you forgot to load your gun.

Or if you’re really talented, it’s perfect for scaring off your enemy while you’re reloading your gun. All in all, this is a very solid gun if not for the intimidation factor alone. Aside from that however, it functions beautifully.

The cord for the chainsaw never gets stuck, it’s easy to reload, and it fires perfectly. We do have to mention that the aim can be a little off for this gun so make sure to adjust as soon as you figure out how it shoots. However, that just comes with the territory for each different gun you buy.

PROS
  • Easy to intimidate enemies
  • Decent capacity for such a long gun
CONS
  • Short range

Nerf N-Strike StratoBow - Unique Nerf Weapon

nerf hyperfire war

Perhaps Nerf guns aren’t your thing. Perhaps this entire time you’ve been thinking to yourself ‘You know what? I’m not necessarily great with a gun, but if there was a Nerf bow and arrow, I could destroy the competition’! Well then look no further than the Nerf N-Strike StratoBow!

This is the perfect solution if you’ve mastered every Nerf gun that there is or if you just want a unique way to take out your enemy. This is something you can easily carry on your back in addition to your two guns and is something that your enemy is never going to expect. It also has a pretty decent range at 85 feet and can be as accurate as you’ll allow it to be.

While you obviously can only fire one dart at a time (unless you’re really that talented with a bow and arrow), the clip on this can hold up to 15 darts! All you have to do is load the dart, pull back, and release to fire the dart and you’re limited in speed only by how quickly you can repeat that motion.

They fire at an average of 65 feet per second so speed is not sacrificed by using this bow and arrow. This is a great change compared to the rest of the Nerf guns and if you feel like your gun collection is complete, this is a great addition and a great way to change it up to catch your typical enemies off guard. The Nerf N-Strike StratoBow is of high-quality and absolutely does not disappoint.

PROS
  • Different than a gun
  • Good range
  • Fast fire speed
CONS
  • Manual reload

Nerf Zombie Strike Sledge Fire Blaster Set - Fires Three Darts At a Time!

nerf gun hyperfire

Last but certainly not least to make it onto our list of the best Nerf guns on the market is the Nerf Zombie Strike Sledge Fire Blaster Set. This is a great sledge fire blaster.

It actually fires three darts at the same time! It’s a Nerf Tri Strike! You’re really able to take out your enemies with only a couple pulls of the trigger. It holds up to nine darts and can actually be a bit of a pain to reload. You have to put three darts into a shell, and then load each of the shells into the blaster.

We have to admit, it’s actually pretty fun to reload although it does take quite a bit of time. It might not be the best gun to use as your main gun but having it loaded for your final blow could definitely be worth your time.

This is easily one of the best multi-fire Nerf guns out on the market. You get a decent range from it at 30 feet. It’s probably best for indoor battles as you’ll be firing three darts at a time. It also features some decent ammo storage in the back of the gun so you’ll always be ready to go.

All in all, another intimidating gun that will do a lot of damage to your enemies exactly when you need it to. This gets at least two thumbs up from us and know you’ll feel the same.

PROS
  • Fires three darts a time
  • Decent range
CONS
  • A bit of a pain to reload

Best Nerf Gun - Buyer's Guide

At first glance, you might think that buying a Nerf gun is a simple task. Just pick the best one, right? Well… if you couldn’t tell from reading this article, it’s not quite that simple.

There’s almost an endless amount of options you can choose from so which one is going to be the best?! Of course, this is going to depend on exactly what kind of battles you normally fight, how many Nerf guns you already have, how much ammo you want to use, etc, etc. Either way, there are three main things to consider when purchasing your next Nerf gun.

Range

Possibly the most important factor that you want to consider when purchasing your gun is the  range. A general rule of thumb is the longer the range the better, but that might not always be the case. If you always fight your battles inside or usually do close-range attacks then you might not need such a long-range weapon. You might want to consider one of the other factors as more important.

Capacity

The second most important factor, if not tied for the most important factor is the ammo capacity. This can range wildly from two darts to 40 darts. If you already have a sizeable Nerf gun collection then perhaps you can go with a gun that only holds eight darts or so. However if you want something that’s going to really function as your main gun, look for something around 20 darts or more.

Motorized or Not

The guns that are manual tend to be a bit slower and don’t require any batteries. However, you can buy some that are fully automatic or semi-automatic and will fire much faster.

These are great and there aren’t many downsides except for the fact that they require batteries. And of course, you’ll run out of ammo faster which means reloading faster. However, they’re generally a great asset to any collection.

Conclusion

We went through quite a lot of Nerf guns on this list. We included some pistols, some slam-fire guns, rapid-fire guns, heck – we even featured a Nerf bow and arrow. There were a lot of top contenders, however, like with any best product list we can unfortunately only choose one as the best nerf gun.

Which one will it be? Will it be a quick-fire, one-handed pistol? Or perhaps a heavy-duty slam-fire gun is going to take the cake? Well, folks! The wait is over. We’re about to announce the best nerf gun of 2018.

The best Nerf gun is the Nerf Rival Khaos MXVI-4000 Blaster. To us, the most important factor in a Nerf battle is ammo. You can have the best Nerf gun in the world with the best aim and the longest range, but if you’re constantly running out of ammo then what’s the point? The Rival Khaos holds 40 rounds!

This is easily one of the highest out of all the Nerf guns and the best part is that you don’t have to compromise on range. This still has a range of 50 feet and is also super easy to reload. This is the best all-around gun and will have you well-prepared for any battle.
